Age 78 of Elmira, NY, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Grace; daughter, Linda (Bruce) Wilbur; sons, Ronald, Edward (Janet), Duane, Dennis (Ellen) Balmer; grandchildren, Jeff (Lori), Shane, Chris (Sharon), Michael, Carissa, Nicole, Lindsey, Ashley, Matthew and Mallory Balmer, John, Joe Wilber, Summer (Mat) Berry, Machelle (Shawn) Crater, Wendy (Larry) Hutcheson; 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; brother, Paul; sisters, Beverly, Louise and June. ?Pete? was predeceased by his son, Gary in 1957. ?Pete? was a WW II Veteran aboard the USS LaPrade # 409 Destroyer Escort and was a self-employed new and used automobile dealer in the Elmira area throughout his life. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday, April 2, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Patrick Haley will officiate. Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park. The family will provide their own flowers. Memorial donations may be directed to the Webb Mills United Methodist Church, PO Box 196, Pine City, NY 14871.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family at www.olthof.com.
