Robert Delmot Cornell

Cornell, Robert Robert D. Cornell, age 67, Wellsburg, NY, passed away on May 26, 2016. Born on June 29, 1948 to the late Clinton and Gene Cornell of Canton, PA. Survived by daughter, Wendy H. Pfuntner of Elmira, NY; stepdaughter, MariBeth Matthews; stepson, Matt Matthews; grandchildren, Jesse H. Pfuntner and Ally Schiefen of Trumansburg, NY, Jordan L. Lewis of Elmira, NY; sisters, Lonna Englert (Jeff), Connie Bergquist (Dan); brothers, Wayne Cornell, Frank Cornell (Priscilla); his beloved shih-tzu "Patches"; along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverly A. Cornell; daughter, Denise Cornell; and best friend of many years, Jim Sherwood of East Canton, PA. Bob was a truck driver for Delmot Motor Express, now Al's Leasing, and retired from Howard's Express. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors. Spent many summers camping at World's End State Park in Forksville, PA. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Moose Club of Canton, PA and was known for his luck at Quick Draw and his contagious laugh and kindness to others. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. Rev. Laurie Greenlaw will officiate. Interment will take place in the East Canton Cemetery in Canton, PA.
