Robert Francis â??Bob�? Cooper

Age 49 of Main Street, Chemung, NY, passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, December 6, 2004, while enjoying the outdoors which he loved dearly. Robert was was born August 7, 1955 in Waverly, NY; the son of Robert F. and Genevieve (Baker) Cooper Sr.He was predeceased by his father, and namesake, Robert F. Cooper Sr. on May 15, 1997. He is survived by his beloved mother, Genevieve Cooper of Breesport, NY; loving wife of 30 years, Debra Benjamin Cooper; much-loved family, son, Robert F. (Diane M.) Cooper III of Lowman, NY; with their children, Lauri Gardner and her children, Brittanie & Michael; Toni & Justin Levandoski; daughter, Rena (Brett) Casterline of Elmira, NY; with their daughter, Aubrey Casterline, known affectionately as ?Scooter? by her grandfather; Janette Cooper (Randy Abbey) of Orlando, FL; sisters, Linda Hurlbut of Tampa, FL; with her son, William Knapp; Monalisa (Paul) Pratt of Glenwood, GA; and their children, Paul, Jesse and Christina; along with several in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and his best friend, Lavere Hunter.Robert was a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1981 to 1984 and recently retired from the Army Reserves with 20 years of meritorious service. He also retired from Purolator Products Company after 20 years of dedicated service. Robert was presently a Corrections Officer with the NYS Department of Corrections working at the Elmira Reformatory. He was a proud member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Law Enforcement Club, New York Chapter # 28. He took great pride in his Harley Davidson Road King and enjoyed his time riding his ?Hog?. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Friday, December 10, 2004 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral Services celebrating Robert?s life will be held there on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 10:00 AM. The Reverend David Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Robert full Military Honors.
