Michael C. Capozzi

Age 78, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 in Syracuse, NY where he resided the past year with his daughter Joanne Capozzi.Michael is the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna V. (Tarntino) Capozzi.He was born in Elmira, NY on September 14, 1928.He is survived by his son; Mickey (Cheryl) Capozzi of Horseheads, NY; daughter, Joanne Capozzi of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren; Erin, Valerie, Gregory, and Bronson; and one great-grandchild, Giovanna.He was predeceased by his wife Alice Capozzi, who died May 23, 1992, daughter Josette Loiacono, who died May 14, 1989, brother Joseph Capozzi, and Sister Mary Kakretz.Michael was a New York State Trooper senior investigator for the BCI.He was proud to be a trooper and served his community for 25 years.Mike was proud to be a decorated diver for the United States Navy.Mike was devoted to his family and friends; he would give to all whom needed.Mike was completely devoted to his home family, as well as his trooper family.Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday October 16, 2006 from 6PM8PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc 1050 Pennsylvania Ave.Elmira, NY 14904.A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10AM October 17, 2006 in St. Marys Church 224 Franklin St. Elmira, NY 14904.The Reverend Richard Farrell will celebrate the mass.Burial will take place in St. Peter and Pauls Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NYS Trooper Foundation, Andy Sperr Memorial, 3 Airport Park Boulevard, Lathem, NY 12110-1441.Those wishing may leave a Candle of Remembrance for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com .
