Age 47 of Horseheads, NY went to be with his Lord on Friday February 15, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer for over two years. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Nancy L. Chaborek, his son whom he adored, Michael J. Chaborek, father, John R. Chaborek, brothers, Brian A. (Cheryl) Chaborek, Dana M. (Michele) Chaborek, brother in-law and sister in-law, Daniel O (Karen) Robbins, father in-law and mother in-law, Otis S. and Doris J. Robbins, nephews, Daniel and David (Megan), niece, Victoria, also nephews, Andrew John, Charles, and Joseph. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his mother, Gloria A. Chaborek,.Mark was a Machinist for Hilliard Corporation for 15 years and a previous Union Stewart. A 20 plus year member and at one point Captain of the Forest View-Gang Mills Volunteer Fire Department. Past Fire Investigator for Steuben County, served as Big Flats Fire Commissioner, and attended many classes at the New York State Fire Academy. He was a coach for the CVSA and the Big Flats Little League Baseball. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and snowmobile rider. But the true joy in his life was his family, spending summers with them at Waneta Lake, coaching his sons soccer or baseball team, which was where he was truly happy.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, on Monday February 18, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Our Mothers Church, Broad St. Horseheads, NY.
