Helen H. Mathews

Age 96, of Chemung County Nursing Facility, Elmira, NY, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Helen was predeceased by her parents, August and Mary Reich, along with sister, Amelia and brothers, Otto and August Jr.She is survived by her loving daughter, Doris Finch; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Earley of Millerton, PA, Sherri Merritt of St. Thomas, USVI, Gary and Loren Finch of Elmira, NY;nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Georgianna Mathews, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was a hard working lady throughout her life; she retired from the Remington Rand Company of Elmira, NY after many years of service. Family and friends will be received at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Funeral Service there Monday at 11:00 AM. The Reverend David Daniels will officiate, followed by graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation in Helens memory to your favorite charity.
