Gary W. Horn

Gary W. Horn Age 69, born May 19, 1947 in Wurzburg, Germany; he passed away peacefully at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio on Saturday, May 6, 2017. His mother, Anna Lotte Balthazorpreceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara (Hetlan) Horn; beloved sons, Gary M. (Kristin) Horn of Elmira, NY; Master Sergeant John M. Horn stationed in Anchorage, Alaska; adored grandchildren, Julia and Joshua Horn; step-father, Dale Balthazor of Phillipsburg, KS; step-sister, Jana (Roy) Jacobs of Orleans, NE; step-brother, Brad Balthazor of Topeka, KS; along with other relatives and many friends. Gary was a Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War and received the following medals: Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. For 10 years Gary worked for Corning Inc., then 16 years at the Chemung Foundry, finally retiring from World Kitchen in Corning with 27 years of dedicated service. All services will be held privately. He will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where the Chemung County Honor Guard will accord Mr. Horn Military Honors.
