Eva Louise Austin

Age 78, of Elmira, NY, formerly of Fassett, PA passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, on Sunday, February 2, 2003, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband; David Austin of Fassett, PA, daughters and sons-in-law; Beverly (Dale) Foust of Mainesburg, PA, Kathy (Stan) Harris of Elmira, NY, sons; Francis Raplee of Elmira, NY, Preston Raplee (Deby Kay) of Xenia, OH, brother; Donald Worthington of Orlando, FL, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many special nieces and nephews. Special friends; Karin (Carl) Packard, JoAnne (Paul) Westrick of Fassett, PA, Bernice Johnston of Elmira and many others. Predeceased in death by son; David Austin, 4 sisters, 2 brothers. Eva was an avid bingo player, a life member of South Creek Fire Dept. Ladies Aux., and the VFW Post 901, Elmira, NY. She retired from the A & P Plant, Horseheads. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral and committal services will be there at the conclusion of calling hours (8:00PM) with Reverend Don Rockwell officiating. Interment will be in Gillett Cemetery on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Memorial Donations may be made to Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 E. Corning, Road, Corning, NY 14830. Special thanks to the Falck Cancer Center, Dr. Abderhalden and all the nurses for all their wonderful care. The South Creek Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. will hold a service at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
