July 11, 1929 — October 20, 2014

Tobey, Ellen Lucille “Sis” age 85 lifelong resident of Southport. Passed away Monday, October 20st, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Sis was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorotha (Frisbie) Erway. She is predeceased by her husband Jack W. Tobey in 1990. Surviving are her children: Roxie Tillotson of Southport, NY, Dine (Richard) Allen of Penn Yan, NY, Jack (Arlene) Tobey of Southport, Russell (Stephanie) Tobey of Southport, NY; Grandchildren: Jason (Megan), Jennifer, Dottie, Danyelle(Larry), JR,and Brooke; Along with Great grandchildren: Tiffanie, Zachery, Brandon, Anthony, Amelia, Nolan, Nathan, Adyn, Ryleigh. Brother: Harry Erway of Penn Yan, NY, Robert Erway of Elmira and sister Maude (Rob) Hall of Florida. Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Brother Chuck, and son in law: Bruce Tillotsom. Sis was a retired Sgt. Of the Chemung County Sherriff’s Department , department of corrections. Life member of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary. She enjoyed sewing, and crossword puzzles. She took great pride in her family. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, October 23rd, 2014 From 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sis Tobey will be held there Friday, October 24th, at 10:00AM. Her nephew Deacon Joseph Erway will officiate. Graveside services will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations maybe made in Ellen L. Tobey’s name to Pathways Inc, 1408 Lake Street, Elmira, NY 14901, or the Ronald McDonald House, 333 Westmoreland Dr. University of Rochester, Rochester, NY 14620. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to family friend Wendy Shuart, Care First, and the Chemung County Health Department for their loving and dedicated care shown to their mom.
