Asa Joseph Coolbaugh

Age 91, of West Second Street Elmira, NY passed away peacefully Monday, October 20, 2003 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 17, 1912 in Kinsgston, PA the son of the late Abraham and Mae (Ellis) Coolbaugh. His wife, Mary in 1966 and his son, Asa in 1964, preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved children, Ella Roman of Elmira, NY; Ernest Coolbaugh of Elmira, NY; Ann (Jim) Potter of Millerton, PA; Leona (Gerald) Hoogenboom of Kalamazoo, MI; Ted (Carol) Coolbaugh of Erin, NY; Bob (Evelyn) Coolbaugh of Elmira, NY; David (Sandy) Coolbaugh of Elmira, NY; Betty Coolbaugh of Elmira, NY; sisters, Leona Sautner of St. Petersburg, FL; Louella (Robert) Shultz of Wyoming, PA; Ida (Delbert) Brusso of Elmira, NY; Grace (Leo) Ginninni of Brick, NJ; along with 22 dearly loved grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Asa took great pleasure in the Friday night poker games as well as his trips to Canada. He enjoyed landscaping, was a wonderful cook and a great provider for his family. Asa cherished his family and was proud of his grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Thursday, October 23, 2003 from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral Services will be held there on Thursday following the visitation at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Patrick Haley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Elmira, NY.
