Agnes A. O´Herron

Of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the age of 84, after a long illness. She was born November 1, 1924 in Elmira, NY; the daughter of the late David A. and Florence Agnes (McLaughlin) O'Herron. Agnes graduated from St. Patrick's High School as valedictorian and the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY as a nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Thatcher Glass for several years before working at St. Joseph's Hospital in Admissions, before retiring because of health reasons. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Helene O'Herron and Francis O'Herron; brothers, James (infant) and David F. O'Herron. She is survived by brother, D. Joseph O'Herron with wife, Girolama O'Herron and their children, Daniel and Connie O'Herron and their children, Marc, Amy, Katie and Andrea; Mark and Karna O'Herron with daughter, Kacey O'Herron; John and Diane O'Herron with their son, Michael and wife Dina and son Riley; daughter, Laura and Arron Lindgren; Mary and Mike McFarland with son, Patrick; Kathleen and Larry Lawrence with daughters, Leeann and Caitlin Lawrence; Girolama and husband, Chuck Reed with daughter, Jennie Rose of California; Betsy and husband, Scott Tolbert with son, Colin; daughters, Madelyn and Alison; sister-in-law, Kathryn Biggs O'Herron and children, Kathleen O'Herron, Christopher O'Herron, and Dr. Timothy O'Herron. Agnes enjoyed family gatherings and especially summer weeks at Keuka Lake with her nieces and nephews. She was a devout Catholic and was a faithful communicant of St. Peter and Paul's Church. Agnes will be sorely missed by the many people that asked for and needed prayers. She was always there for them. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held there on Saturday at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter & Paul's Church, 161 High Street, Elmira, NY. The Reverend Walter Wainwright will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery with Father Wainwright conducting the committal prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 555 East Market Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
