Thomas W. Pitt

Age 70, of Jerusalem Hill Road in the town of Elmira, NY passed away on Monday, September 23, 2002 following a courageous seven year battle with cancer. Tom was born in Elmira, NY on November 17, 1931, the son of the late Emma Rose Pitt and Theodore W. Pitt. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary L. Pitt. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Rikki L. (Peter H.) Sorensen of Havre, MT, son and daughter-in-law; Tracy W. (Helen M.) Pitt of Apopka, FL, sister; Gerrie L. Lyman of Spring Hill, FL, 5 granddaughters; Tammy L. Pitt of Elmira, NY, Theresa A. Alford of Apopka, FL, Tina M. Rivera of Horseheads, NY, Sarah L. Walker of Bozeman, MT, and Rachel L. Sorensen-Lopez of San Diego, CA, 3 great-grandsons; William J. Rivera, Warren T. Rivera and Jerade N. Rivera, all of Horseheads, NY, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends including his loving companion, Shirley Fitzpatrick of Southport, NY. Tom was a retired tool and die maker from Purolator in Elmira Heights, NY after 30 years of dedicated service. Tom enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was an avid outdoorsman with a special love for hunting and fishing. He lived his life to the utmost. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY 14904 on Friday, September 27, 2002 from 1 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 8 pm. The Rev. Ann Mowery will officiate.
