Tom had a big heart, was kind, a hard worker, and knowledgeable about many things. Tom began his career as a sheet metal worker at American LaFrance and retired as a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 112. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He especially enjoyed his carabao hunts in the Canadian Tundra. Tom appreciated sharing his many stories of time spent in nature and photographing animals in their natural habitat. He was also a skilled woodworker and created many family heirlooms. He enjoyed playing and watching sports. As a former coach, Tom felt immense enjoyment in cheering on his grandchildren at their various sporting events and bragging about them to everyone he talked to. Above all he was a dedicated family man and devoted ‘girl dad’ whose greatest joy was spending time with his daughters, granddaughters, and great grandchildren.
In remembrance of Tom, his daughters and grandchildren have planned a celebration of life for Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Southport Fire Hall from 1-4pm. Please join the family and share your favorite memories of Tom while wearing casual or hunting attire, as this is what Tom preferred.
The family would like to thank the staff of Falck Cancer Center and CareFirst NY for the skilled and compassionate care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catch-A-Dream Foundation at www.catchadream.org. Catch-A-Dream Foundation is a nonprofit organization that grants once-in-a-lifetime hunting and fishing experiences to children 18 years old or younger who have a life-threatening illness.
