Stephen N. Mathews

Stephen N. “Steve” Mathews Age 46, was born October 15, 1971 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Edwin N. and Christine A. (Walton) Mathews. He passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. His brother-in-law, Steve Parker preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Heather A. (Yusko) Mathews; beloved children: Stephen N. Mathews Jr., Brittany Decker & Tarince D. Wilson, Megan (Herman) Thomas Jr., Paige “Baby Girl” Mathews & Ryan Richards; grandchildren: Johnny, “Tre”, “Z”, “Zhy”, granddaughter due in December, Paisley Ann; sisters: Rebecca (Joseph) Spencer, Samantha (Erich) Ferriter; mother-in-law, Colleen (Mike) Edwards; father-in-law, Stephen (Patricia) Yusko; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends; and his girlfriend Harley Davidson. He was currently employed at Leprino Food Company in Waverly and was a well-known meat cutter in the area. He was a great outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and tipping a cold one back. Above all he loved his family. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating Steve’s life will follow the visitation at 5 pm.
