Stella Florence Houseknecht, age 81, of 7 Circuit Drive, Elmira died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Chemung County Nursing Facility, Elmira. Florence was born April 24, 1921 at Newark, OH the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Romine) Davis.She married Donald L. Houseknechtin Long Beach, CA in 1944.Florence was a homemaker.She is survived by her husband; Donald L. Houseknecht, one daughter: Donna Lea Houseknecht, two sons: Larry & Mary Houseknecht, Alan & Stella Houseknecht, two sisters: Gladys Bowman of Newark, OH, Jannetta Kimble of Newark, OH, two brothers: Arthur Davis of Thornville, OH, Thomas Davis of FL, grandchildren; Lauri Greenlaw, Mark, Dana, Christine & Alan M. Houseknecht. Florence was predeceased by her sisters; Irona Wessinger & Mable Crothers; brothers, Howard, Ralph, Franklin, Clarence, Jr. Davis.She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, but her passion was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.She devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, September 30, 2002from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY.The funeral will follow at 8:00PM with Rev.
