Sharon L. Ungvarsky Age 85 of Pine City, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was born on November 21, 1936 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Gerald and Bethel (Carter) Vunk. Sharon was a graduate of Southside High School, and married Daniel Ungvarsky on February 14, 1975. She worked at Hardinge Brothers for approximately 25 years. She was a member of the Elmira Garden Club, bowling and golf leagues, and loved crafting, baking, and wreath making. Sharon loved to craft and tend to her beautiful gardens. She had a true green thumb and many people were amazed at the beauty of her gardens. She also made Christmas wreaths for many Elmira and surrounding businesses and residences. She also was known for making the most beautiful floral arrangements. She was the Queen of Making Bows. Sharon was also an avid baker and baked the most delicious pies, cookies, and meals. She loved playing games like Canasta, Uno, Phase Ten and any other game that existed. She was extremely devoted to her beloved late husband, Danny, and her large family. Sharon is survived by her children and spouses, Bryan and Karin Carpenter of Sewell, NJ, Bruce and Erlinda Carpenter of Odenton, MD; grandchildren, Erica and Terry Deal of Springfield, PA, Justin and Jennifer Carpenter of Sewell, NJ, Patrick Carpenter of Sewell, NJ, John Eckert and Allie Brumbach of Glassboro, NJ, Katrina and Chris Wilcox of Aiea, HI, Melanie and Anthony Lane of Sewell, NJ, Joseph Eckert and Julianna Pagano of Sewell, NJ; great grandchildren, Kayla, Carissa, Kovy, and another great-grandson due April, 2022; also survived by many loving sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Ungvarsky; sister, Carole Hawley; daughter-in-law, Kathy Carpenter; in-laws, Andrew and Mary Ungvarsky; and many sisters and brothers-in-law. Friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira, NY on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with funeral services there Friday at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery, Horseheads, NY. A reception will be held at a later date and time due to COVID.
