Scott Francis Makinster

Age 34 Of Gillett, PA passed away Thursday, September 19, 2002 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife; Julie A. Makinster, children; Kandi Mae Deloach, Amanda, Nicole, Ashley, Kayla and Jacob Makinster, mother; Charlotte Makinster, sisters; Doris Tillery of Elmira, NY, Bonnie of PA, and Connie Daniels of Chaumont, NY, brothers; Charles T.Makinster of Gillett, PA and Charles C. Makinster of Reno, NV. Also survived by several cousins, many close friends, especially Joe Allen & Claire Olvera. Scott was predeceased by his father, Charles Makinster (1996) and brother Richard E. VanAuken (1985).Scott enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar with his brothers and friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Nascar fan. Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver. Scott enjoyed the great outdoors and he loved getting together with family and friends for any occasion. He was a kind and gentle person; while driving with his mother-in-law one day, she noticed some lilacs along the roadside. Scott stopped the car, got out and collected lilacs for her.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Monday, September 23, 2002 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal there at 7:00 PM.
