Age 94, of Elmira, passed into peaceful rest surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, November 27, 2001 in his daughter?s home.Russell was born on March 1, 1907 in Blossburg, PA.He was predeceased by: wife; Josephine Tobey Jessup, son; Jack M. Tobey, sister; Laura Alexander and brothers; Francis and George Jessup.Russell is survived by: daughter; Albina J. (William) Davidson, daughter-in-law; Ellen (Sis) Tobey, sister- in-law; Velma Jessup of Elmira, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren; Scott Davidson of South Strafford, VT, Edward (Veronica) Davidson, The Woodlands, TX, Barbara Davidson of Madison, WI, Roxanna (Bruce) Tillotson of Elmira, NY, Dianna (Dick) Allen of Elmira, NY, Jack (Arlene) Tobey of Elmira, NY, Russell (Stephanie) Tobey of Elmira, NY, great-grandchildren; Cedar, Gioia, Angelique, Reynaldo, Thomas, Jason, Jennifer, Dorotha, J.R., Danyelle and Brooke, and great-great grandchildren; Tiffany, Zachery, Brandon and Anthony.Russell worked in various retail establishments throughout his life including Werdenberg?s Clothing Store.He retired from NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets as a meat inspector.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Friday, November 30, 2001 from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church 1009 Maple Ave. Elmira, NY at 10am.The Rev. Cathy Black will officiate.Interment will immediately follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.Memorial donations may be directed to the Westminster Presbyterian Church or to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 E.
