Rose L. Wilcox

Rose L. Wilcox, a native of Little Meadows, PA and resident of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on July 11, 2024. She was 60 years old.

Rose worked in the bakery and as a cashier for several local grocery stores, including Weis and Walmart. She was a long-time member of Oakwood United Methodist Church, and was a devoted volunteer at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. She also had a special love for dogs.

Rose was preceded in death by: her parents Richard and B. Jane (Springer) Barnum; and her brother Dennis Barnum.

She is survived by: her beloved husband Stephen M. Wilcox; her children – Randall Fleming and wife Amber, James Fleming and wife Natasha, and Elizabeth Fleming and partner Ed Moon; her step-children – Jessica (Wilcox) Martinez and husband Chris, and Shawn Wilcox; her grandchildren – Raiden Fleming, Jeremy Nines, Athyna Fleming, Sophia Fleming, Antoine Fleming, Anajae Fleming, Rosalynn Moon, and Harmoni Moon; her step-grandchildren – Ethan Martinez, Emelia Martinez, Marili Martinez, Sierra Wilcox and husband Chad McElwee, Camden Wilcox and wife Ashlynne, Kiley Wilcox, Sean Smallwood, Dante Smallwood, and Noelani Smallwood;  her step-great-grandchildren Priscilla Martinez and William McElwee; her siblings – Penny Jo Barnum, Janice Springer, Roy Barnum and partner Debbie Conklin, and Jeanette Warrick; her nieces and nephews – Kristie Hunsinger and husband Thomas, Jessie Barnum, Cassandra Scalzo, Kevin Snow and wife Melanie, Mary Reifenburg, Richard Springer and wife Imogene, Clyde Springer, Cameron Barnum, Emerald Barnum, Carrie Fulgham, Carmen Warrick, Ronald Warrick, Kyle Barnum, and Matt Barnum; many aunts and uncles, including her closest uncle Dave Springer; many great-nieces and nephews; and family friend Shelly Lisk.

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or by donating food or supplies directly to the Elmira Animal Shelter, 842 Linden Pl, Elmira, NY 14901.
