Ronald L. Shedden

Ronald L. Shedden, age 74, lived in Horseheads, NY formerly of Gillett, PA passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Ron was born on September 9, 1944 in Troy, PA to the late Duane and Bessie (Foster) Shedden, Sr. He was predeceased by his loving son, Brian Shedden in 2007. Ron is survived by his loving and caring wife of 55 years, Barbara (Cherkis) Shedden; son, Terry (Jayne) Shedden; daughter, Lisa (Matt) Gray; sister, Sandra (Glenn) Smith; brother, Duane (Helen Kay) Shedden, Jr.; sister, Sharon (Gary) Zack; brother-in-law, Peter J. Cherkis, Jr.; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Jeff) Lee, Kevin Shedden, Kylee Shedden, Collin Shedden and Mason Shedden; three great-grandchildren, Landon and Waylon Lee and Carter Rodabaugh; and former daughter-in-law, Shannon. Ron grew up with a passion of fixing and selling cars. He was in business with his brother, Duane, at Shedden Brothers Auto Sales in Fassett, PA for over 30 years doing what he loved. Along with working on cars, Ron enjoyed golfing, playing cards, trips to the casino, household projects, and traveling to Florida. After residing at Bethany, he enjoyed going for rides in the car and going out to eat. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Manor and Corning Guthrie for all the great care he received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 in Ron's memory. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 4 pm to 6 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6 pm at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. Rev. John Ford will officiate.
