Ronald L. Ripley

Ronald L. “Rip” Ripley, 75, born in Elmira, NY went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Born son of the late Edwin and Gertrude Ripley; He was also predeceased by his brother, Philip. Rip is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce M. Ripley; sons, Joseph of Luray,VA, and James (Kandy) of Hinesville, GA; daughter, Mary of Elkton, VA; Four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Katheryn Ernest and Susan (Fred) FitzPatrick; sister-in-law, Joanna Ripley; He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rip was an 8 year veteran of the US Airforce. He retired from NYSEG after 23 years of dedicated service. Rip was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Memorial donations may be made to Westside United Methodist Church, 743 W 1st St, Elmira, NY 14905. The family would like to express their appreciation to Rip’s caregivers, especially Lisa and the Arnot Medical Center Staff. A memorial service celebrating Rip's life will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1 PM at the Westside UMC, Elmira, NY with full military honors. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
