Ronald H. Butcher, age 70, formerly of Grandville Summit, PA passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Steuben Center in Bath, NY. He was born in Troy, to the late Harry and Margaret (Scofield) Butcher. He is survived by his loving family, wife; Bea of 39 years, children; Jennifer Butcher-Bednar, Darcie (Donald) Elms, Ronald (Carrie) Randolph, grandchildren; Kyle, Russell, and Randy, siblings; Virginia Ward, Gary (Esther) Butcher, and Dale (Ida), and sister-in-law; Beatrice Butcher. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his brother James, and nephews James and Wade, and a great-nephew, Joshua. He graduated from Troy High School, in 1965. Afterwards he went on to join the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, including making trips to the casino. He retired from Select Sires in Pennsylvania in 2010. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. Family and friends are invited to call at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 2872 Westinghouse Road, Horseheads, NY on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 from 3-4 PM with military honors and a memorial service to immediately follow. There will be a luncheon afterwards at the church. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or a charity of one’s choice.
