Mood, Robert Sr. age 63 of Elmira, NY Was blessed into peace Sunday, September 9th, 2001 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Robert, the son of the late Arthur and Martha DeVore Mood, was born December 15th, 1937 in Rochester, NY. He married his dear friend, and his loving life companion Phyllis Adams April 25th, 1959. Together they shared a wonderful and fruitful life, filled with memories that will always be cherished. Surviving Robert is his beloved wife of 42 years, Phyllis Mood of Elmira, their loving children Robert (Kathy) Mood of Webb Mills, NY, David (Lisa) Mood of Canton, PA, Howard (Bernadette) Mood of Elmira, and Brenda (Raymond) Ketter of Webb Mills, NY, 10 beautiful grandchildrenMatthew, Melanie, Rebecca, Jacob, Graceanah, Maura, Raymond III, Timothy, Kayla, and Justin, brother and sister ?in- law Marc and Lois Mood of Elmira, sister Peg Connis of Johnson City, NY, sister- in ?law, Marianne Mood of Elmira, Aunt Ida Luella DeVore and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.A brother, Arthur Mood predeceases Robert.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Wednesday, September 12th, 2001, 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral and committal services will be held there at the conclusion of the calling hours at.The Reverend Laurie Greenlaw will officiate. Graveside committal prayers will be shared privately with full military honors accorded at the Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY at a time convenient with the family.Those knew Robert, knew him best for his love of people. He was a proud man who always carried his religion and family in his heart.Robert was proud of his family and all their life accomplishments. He adored his time with his number one fan Phyllis. Everyday was special to Robert because he knew Phyllis was going to be there to start his day. A very active member of the Millerton Wesleyan Church, Robert loved to help maintain the grounds and help with anything that needed fixing or improving. He was a dedicated Christian who loved to help anyone in need. Robert was an avid outdoorsman at heart. He loved to garden, work outside for himself and the church that he loved. He was always ready to fish or go for an allday walk. His walks were very important to him, not for the distance traveled,but for the people he would meet along the way. Serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, Robert showed that he not only loved his country but its people.
