Robert B. Lantz

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Juliana “Julie” M. Bedrosian Lantz; children, David (Amelia) Lantz, and their children, Julia and Sofia; Alan (Chimene) and their children, Camryn and Charlie; Amy (Ronnie) Lovejoy with their children, Emily and Matthew; along with a niece and two nephews. Bob was a graduate of Southside High School in 1949 and Broome Tech in Binghamton in 1951. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. He played 3rd base in Elmira City softball and was inducted into the Elmira Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in softball. Bob retired from Hilliard Corp after 36 years of dedicated employment. Bob was a life member of the Elmira Elks Club. Anyone who knew Bob loved his great sense of humor and sharp wit. He was our hero! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, 2435 NY-352, Elmira, NY 14903 or a charity of one’s choice. Family and friends are welcome to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 1 PM to 3 PM then from 6 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
