Age 66 of Roe Road, Willseyville, NY, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Florida Hospital East Orlando, FL. He was born April 22, 1935 in Owego, NY the son of the late Frances and Ethel (News) Carrigan. Robert married Marian Cooper February 24, 1956 in Pine City, NY. They have celebrated 46 wonderful years of life and love together. His survivors include: loving wife, Marian; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert D. and Carla Carrigan Jr. of Winchester, KY; Joseph M. and Patricia Carrigan of Orlando, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Robert Guiles of Owego, NY; brothers, James (Florence) Carrigan of Horseheads, NY; Paul (Janey) Carrigan of Erin, NY; sister, Nancy (Charles) Pond of Nichols, NY; brother-in-law, Rev. Vince (Esther) Cooper of Lowman, NY; sisters-in-law, Genevieve Miller also of Lowman, NY; Theodora Harris of Wellsburg, NY; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother, Wayne Carrigan, sister, Carolyn Young and grandson Robert D. Carrigan, III predeceased Robert. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Korean War. Robert was a retired security officer from the Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to Flea Markets, was an avid football fan and especially loved NASCAR. He was proud to be a die-hard fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post # 907 Candor, NY. His love was for his ?kids and cats?. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (2 PM) The Reverend Vince Cooper, Reverend Dale Ingraham and Reverend Ronald Benson will officiate. Interment will follow immediately in the Woodlawn National Cemetery Elmira, NY where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Carrigan full Military Honors.
