Robert Harold â??Bob�? Priest

Age 77 of Elmira, NY went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, November 06, 2002 peacefully at Elcor Health Services in Horseheads, NY. He was born April 2, 1925 in Kingston, NY the son of the late Harold Brandow and Luella (Tompkins) Priest. He was predeceased by brothers, James, Richard and Newton; sisters, Ruth and Martha; 2 baby sisters. Robert married Madeline Lumayno April 28, 1984 in Red Hook, NY. His survivors include: Loving wife, Madeline; beloved children, Robert N. (Barbara) Priest of Rosendale, NY; Terri (David) Gallenz of Kingston, NY; Timmy (Nan) Priest of Stone Ridge, NY; Emmanuel Priest of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Tracy, Christopher and Valerie Priest; Maggie Priest; Mark and Stephen Gallenz; step-grandchildren, Ben and Jacob Hefle; former wife, Alicia Lee Priest of Kingston, NY; brother, Henry Priest of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Beatrice Komasa of Malden, NY; Helen Spence of Kingston, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and many friends. ?Bob? as he was affectionately known, was a Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country from 1944 ? 1946 during WW II. He received the following medals during his service: American Theatre Medal, European Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, Philippine Liberation and Victory Medal. On April 1, 1986, he retired from the Kingston Fire Department in Kingston, NY, as Deputy Fire Chief with over 30 years of dedicated service. ?Bob? was also a member of the Elmira Christian Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Monday, November 11, 2002 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. The Reverend?s John Bedzyk and David Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord full Military Honors to Mr. Priest.
