Age 65, of Pine City, NY passed away Friday, June 14, 2002 at home.He is survived by: his wife of 44 years; Evelyn Sproule Peckham, children; Marlene (Joseph) Gasienski, Richard W. Peckham, John F. Peckham, William E. (Cindy) Peckham, Darlene K. (Gary) Brizzee, Travis C. Peckham, Chad A. Peckham (Sherry), Debbie Luokkanen, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, mother ?in-law; Elouise R. Sproule, brothers; Bob (Kathy) Peckham, John B. Peckham, Eddie (Sherry) Peckham, sisters; Betty Nichols, Theresa Coldiron, Marion (Bud) Becker, brother-in-law; James (Fran) Sproule, several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.Richard was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.Richard is a United States Army Veteran serving his country as part of the Army Corps of Engineers.He worked as the Superintendent for the Town of Caton after working there for many years as a machine operator.Richard spent many days farming on the family farm earlier in his life.He also worked for the Hilliard Corp. as a painter.Richard was an avid hunter, fisherman and card player.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 from 5pm to 7pm and on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 from 10am to 12pm.Funeral and Committal services will immediately follow visitation on Wednesday at 12pm.Interment will take place in the Woodlawn National Cemetery.Anyone wishing may light a ?Candle of Remembrance? at www.olthof.com.
