Paulo, Richard A. ?Retired Gentleman?Age 66 of Morely Place Elmira, NY. Passed away Sunday, June 3, 2001 at the VA Medical Center Bath, NY after a brief illness. He was born July 19, 1934 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Achille and Nancy (Spaziani) Paulo. He was predeceased by his wife of 12 years, Carol A. (Wandell) Paulo; sisters, Mary Monfuletho, Blanche Stelmach; brothers, Sylvester Paulo, Albert Paulo, Dominick Paulo, August Paulo, Lewis Paulo. His survivors include: son, Anthony Paulo of Florida; sisters, Rose Mingoia (who was like a mother to Richard) of Amhurst, NY; Angeline Crowley of North Abington, MA; brother, Ermen (Bonnie) Paulo of Elmira, NY; dear friends, George (Shirl) Wilson and family of Elmira, NY; Paul Hammond (Norma Rivers) of Horseheads, NY; Wayne (Nina) Sheesley also of Horseheads, NY; father-in-law, Donald (Alison) Wandell of Elmira, NY; mother-in-law, Lillian Johnson Wandell of Elmira, NY; step-children, Jamie Raczkowski of Phoenix, AZ; Michael Cesarini (Tina Pachieo) of Elmira, NY; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Wandell (Tom Raczkowski), Lillian Wandell (Harold Stone) all of Elmira, NY; brothers-in-law, Richard (Noreen) Wandell of Erin, NY; Michael (Bobbi) Wandell, Donald Wandell, Roger Wandell all of Elmira, NY; Joseph (Terri) Wandell of Erin, NY; step-grandchildren, Antonio, Michael Jr. and Martino Cesarini of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Richard was a Veteran of the US Army serving his country from 1948 ?1949, was a member of the Laborer?s International Union of North America and was also a member of the Chemung County Rod & Gun Club, Inc. Mr. Paulo was known affectionately throughout the community as the ?Retired Gentleman?. All will miss him dearly. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Thursday, June 7, 2001 from 1 to 2 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (2 PM) The Reverend Howard Hunt will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Peter and Paul?s Cemetery Elmira, NY where full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Paulo by the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad.
