Was born April 3, 1949 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Gabriel A. and Betty Elizabeth (Earley) DeMark, passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 64.His cousin, Donald DeMark, preceded him in death.He is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Congdon); beloved daughters, Deanna DeMark (Erick Palmer) of Ithaca, NY; Stacy (Daniel) Robbins of Susquehanna, PA; Tracy DeMark of Pine City, NY; grandchildren, Brian Richard DeMark, Tyler Petrie, Alexa Robbins; great grandchildren, Kalysta DeMark and Tyler Petrie Jr.; brother, Daniel (Darlene) DeMark of Elmira, NY; sister, Carol (Robert) Morris also of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, as well as many close and special friends.Richard was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country.He retired from Howell Packaging after years of dedicated service as a salesman.He was a school bus driver for the Elmira City School District and connected with all of the students who rode his bus.He was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan.Richard loved golfing, playing poker, singing, and was a great dancer.He will always be remembered for the smile on his face and his great sense of humor.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.A celebration of Richard's life will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM.Deacon George Welch will officiate.Interment will take place in the Woodlawn National Cemetery on Tuesday at 2:00 PM, where the Chemung County Veteran's Honor Squad will accord Mr. DeMark with Military Honors.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association P.
