Rhoda J. Haven

July 19, 1957 — June 18, 2024

Rhoda Joyce Haven was born July19, 1957, in Lowell, Massachusetts to Odis Sr. & Mildred Seals. The Lord deemed timely to call Rhoda from our midst on June 18, 2024.

She attended Thomas Edison High School. After 16 years of service, she recently retired from Automatic Data Processing Company as a Benefits Coordinator for Wage Works in the government division in 2021. She worked as an Assistant to 2ndgrade children caregiver with Prader-Willie Syndrome. She was a devout Christian with deep connections to her community, clothing drives, and community clean up with Hikes Point Christian Church, food and clothing assistance with Hip Hop Cares, building homes with Habitat for Humanity. Her service was never ending.

Rhoda loved her Miami Dolphins Football Team, Los Angeles Lakers Basketball Team, sewing, crocheting, traveling and spending time with relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mildred E. Seals, father Odis E. Seals, Sr., brothers, Odis E. Seals, Jr. and Terrance A. Seals.

Rhoda leaves to cherish precious memories; son, Stephen Haven, Jr., of Buffalo, NY, daughters, Nichole Haven, Natalie Haven, and Neshaira Haven all of Louisville, KY, sisters, Brenda Walker of Horseheads, NY, Sandra Clark Kaddy (James) Portsmouth, NH, Deborah Beckett (Ronald) Apopka, FL, Pamela Filley (David) of Louisville, KY, Audrey Irish (Alfred) Endicott, NY, brothers, Kevin Seals (Suzanne) of Spokane, WA, Elvin Seals, of Horseheads, NY, sister-in-law, Barbara Seals of Horseheads, NY, grandchildren, Aiyden Haven, Persaya Haven, Aiva Haven, Stephen Haven III, Christian Haven, a very special friend-like a sister Carol Novick and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Family and friends are invited to call Friday, June 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904. Rhoda’s homegoing celebration will be held there at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
