Raymond L. Ketter, Jr.

PINE CITY – Raymond L. Ketter, Jr. 63, of Pine City, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Born on March 15, 1959 in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond L. and Roxanne Mae (Whipple) Ketter, Sr. Ray was a graduate of Elmira Southside High School class of 1978.

On April 9, 1988, he married the love of his life, Brenda L. Mood at the First Church of the Nazarene in Elmira.

For more than 40 years, Raymond served on the Webbs Mills Volunteer Fire Department as a dedicated fireman and mentor.

Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing and old farm tractors. He was a loving kind husband, father and grandfather that his family looked up to. More than anything, he cherished the time that he shared with them.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Ketter and his sister, Catherine Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda L. (Mood) Ketter of Pine City; his sons, Raymond L. Ketter, III (Ashley Hoyt) of Pine City, Timothy J. Ketter (Sara Gilbert) of Pine City; his daughter, Kayla Ketter (Michael LaPlant) of Elmira; his grandchildren, Jaxon Hoyt, Julia Fleming, Joel LaPlant, Jonothon LaPlant; his nieces, Shawna Smith; his nephews, Joshua Smith, William (Dominique) Phillips; his brother, David (Karen) Ketter of Millport; his sister, Mary (Tim) Jessup of Lindley; and his cousins, Mindy Hungerford, Winnie Brimmer and Theresa Schwartz.
