Ralph W. Setzer,

Age 88, of South Hoffman Street Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at home. He was born September 17, 1916 in Murray, PA the son of the late William and Cora (Diffenbach) Setzer. Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Halkovich) Setzer April 9, 2003 and his sister, Floy Comelitti. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph W. and Guylene Setzer Jr. of Christiansburg, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Douglas Gross of Elmira, NY; sisters, Beulah Chiplis of Westminster, MD; Alice (Robert) Pinnock of Elizabethtown, PA; brother, Roy (Thomasina) Setzer of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Laurie (Steve) Nelson of Tokyo, Japan; Rick (Faith) Setzer of Brewerton, NY; Andrew (Christy) Gross of Chester, Virginia; Samuel Gross of Elmira, NY; along with 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was a Veteran of the US Navy and proudly served his country from 1944-1946 during WW II. He retired from the Remington Rand after many years of faithful and dedicated service and later from the Marine Midland Bank. He enjoyed his Sunday drives, crossword puzzles, the AARP Meetings and the Prostate Support Group and the Falck Cancer Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Friday, December 24, 2004 from 11:00 - 12:00 (noon). Funeral Services honoring Ralph?s memory will follow the visitation. His former co-worker and friend the Reverend Donald Rockwell will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
