R. Gregg Beach

ELMIRA – R. Gregg Beach, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022 after a short illness.  He was born July 11, 1939 in Elmira, NY.

His first job was at Ithaca Gun Company as a Tool & Die Maker.  After several years at Ithaca Gun, he joined Fassett Manufacturing and later retired at the age of 80 on August 28, 2020 from Fasset/Motor Components after 40+ years of dedicated service.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA and an avid woodworker who took amazing pride in his creations.  He also enjoyed his time at the lake where he spent 30+ summers fishing, boating, and enjoying family and friends.  In his early years, he drove his racecar for the SCCA and was a beautiful musician and artist.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nancy Beach; beloved step-son, Gene Larson; daughter-in-law, Sue Larson; his daughter, Julie Nichols (Artie); his son, Paul Beach; his brother-in-law, Dick Larson; sister-in-law, Penni Larson; grandchildren, Kyle Larson (Evelyn Thomas), Amanda (Scott) Lynch, Michael Larson, Gregory John Paul Beach,  Samantha (Zack) Curren, Megan Nichols (fiancé, Ryan McNamara), Katie Nichols;  great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Sophia, Cooper, Amelia, Sawyer, Jackson; several nieces and nephews, Wendy (Dickie) Voorhees, Parker, Eric (Susan) Larson, Hayden and Rylen; as well as many special friends including, Danny Wheeler, Connie Judd (Jerry).  If you knew Gregg, you were truly blessed!

Friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue in Elmira with a service to follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m.  Burial will immediately follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.
