PINE CITY – Phyllis E. Cady, 89, of Pine City, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021.Born on July 29, 1932 in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Irene D. (Youngerman) Berwick.After high school, she went to work for Chemung Canal Trust Co. where she continued to work for more than 40 years until her retirement. Phyllis loved animals.Her back yard was a zoo of wild animals including her favorite bear, Teddy.She also loved to socialize and dine out with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Harold “Bud” Cady in 2009; her sisters, Virginia Hamilton and Audrey Manzo; her brothers-in-law, Clifford Hamilton, Sr. and Anthony Manzo; her nephews, Nino Manzo and Tom Hamilton; and her good friends, Larry Stull and Susan Brewster. She is survived by her nieces, Kathleen (Don) Piazza of Jamestown, NY, Marilyn (Curly) Cary of Austin, TX, Angela Deats of Austin, TX, Mary Jo (Frank) Cerqua of Baldwinsville, NY, Linda Hamilton, Hilliard, OH, her nephew, Clifford (Nancy) Hamilton, Jr. of Keuka Lake, NY; as well as her good friends, JoAnne Stull, Patty Johnson, Jane Gransbury, Joyce Layton and her beloved cat Suzy. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
