Philip W. “Rip” Ripley, age 84, born April 16, 1933 in Lambs Creek, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Rip was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Gertrude Ripley. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Joanna Ripley; sons, Rodney (Tammy) Ripley, Brian (Darlene Wetzel) Ripley; daughter, Elaine (Rick, former son-in-law) Williams; sisters, Kathryn Ernest and Susan (Frederick) FitzPatrick; brother, Ronald (Joyce) Ripley; 3 grandchildren, Wesley and William Ripley, Kelsey Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Rip was a veteran of the US ARMY. He retired from Elmira Correctional Facility. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, bowling, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Rip was always willing to help those in need and was very involved in Habitat For Humanity, Meals On Wheels and Centenary United Methodist Church, now New Beginnings United Methodist Church. The family will welcome relatives and friends for calling hours on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira with a funeral service to be held there on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 10 AM.
