Paula Thomas

Elmira- Paula Thomas, 73, passed away March 25, 2023. Paula was born on August 25, 1949, in Elmira, NY. Daughter of Paul R. Dewey (Mad Man) and Vivian A. (Norman) Dewey. Paula graduated from Southside High School, class of 1967. Paula lived in Elmira most of her life aside from a couple of years in Germany. Paula worked at the Holiday Inn, the ARC of Chemung, and Sparkle Cleaners. Paula will be most remembered as a spunky, funny, loving, and generous Mom and Nena who touched the lives and hearts of many. In addition to her parents, her brother, Gary Dewey (Mad Man Jr.) predeceased her. Surviving are daughter, Michelle (Todd) Bristol of Pine City, NY William (Kris) Thomas of Elmira, NY and daughter Kelli Thomas of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren Kayla Herriman, Carter Bristol, Patrick Thomas, Maddison Bristol, and Shyonna Hernandez. Great-grandchildren, Nola and Lincoln Henry, and goddaughter, Sara Roberts. Many nieces and nephews and friends and family. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday April 4, 2023, at the Elks Lodge #62 at 300 E. Gray St. Elmira, NY, from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and the Ronald McDonald House.
