Patricia "Patti" A. Gressel

Patricia A. "Patti" Gressel Age 58, born July 11, 1958 in Wellsville, NY, the daughter of Richard and Lucie (Krinke) Freeman, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Her father, Richard; beloved daughter, Allison Elizabeth Gressel; several aunts and uncles; canine companions, "Bernie" and "Charlie" preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Robert J. "Bob" Gressel; mother, Lucie Freeman of Tyler, TX; sisters, Gloria (Craig) Bayer of Orange, CA; Kim (Steve) Thompson of Tyler, TX; Lisa (Jeff) Zato of Mesa, AZ; best friend, Debi Warfe; canine companion, "Dobee"; along with many other relatives and friends. In 1979 Patti graduated from the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing. For 28 years she was a Registered Nurse at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and for the last 8 years has been a RN for CareFirst. She was a very dedicated and professional nurse and if you were privileged to have her as a nurse you received the best care. Patti and her friend Vanessa, while working at AOMC Emergency Department, finished 1 and 2 in New York State for emergency room procedures in a state wide exam. Patti also taught for Em Star for many years and also worked for the Schuyler Ambulance Service. Patti loved reading, good movies, Keuka Lake and helping people. She was an avid New York Yankees fan. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating Patti's life will be held there on Saturday, July 8th at 10 am. Chaplain Meredith Tifft and Chaplain Alice Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870 or to the Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Ave., Elmira, NY 14905.
