Patricia A. Benson, age 80, of Pine City, New York and Oak Hill, Florida, died Monday, April 10, 2023 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Liberty, Pennsylvania to Donald H. and Bernadine L. Butters Brown, Patricia spent her winter months in Florida.
A retired school teacher, and member of the Pine City Baptist Church. Patricia was a wonderful artist, and enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds. She loved to read, garden, and had gorgeous flowers. Patricia was a wonderful cook and she loved to bake all kinds of cookies, especially Christmas cookies for the neighbors.
Survivors include her sister, Diane (Gary) Kreger, of Sayre, Pennsylvania, and Ocala, Florida; nephew, Scott (Roxanne) Kreger, of Canton, Georgia; niece, Pam (Spencer) Gerow, of Corning, New York; 2 great nieces, Lauren Gerow, and Amanda Kreger; 5 cousins, Sharell Knipe, Arland Knipe, Randy Knipe, Craig Knipe and Keving Knipe; dear dear friend, Eudora Shuler; dear friends, Brenda Hardy and Larry Johnson, both of Oak Hill. Also survived by many close friends; and her puppies, Sasha and Missy. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, John. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Pine City Baptist Church, 1516 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY 14871 Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hour at 12:00pm. The Reverend Carol Patterson will officiate, graveside committal prayers will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira. Memorial donations may be made to Pine City Baptist Church.
