Onifer J. â??Pat�? Patrick

Onifer J. Patrick, Age 74, of St. Joseph´s Hospital SNF, 555 E. Market St., Elmira died Saturday, July 6, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Elmira.Mr. Patrick was born June 18, 1928 in Binghamton, NY, the son of the late Onifer and Pelahia Storozka (Pauline Petrosky) Patrick. Pat served two tours in the US Army. The first during World War II from 1946 until 1949 and the second during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1952. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, but dancing was his life. He was a dance instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Elmira, where he held a franchise for 30 years. Women flocked around him hoping to be honored with just one dance with him. He was a member of Clarence Oliver American Legion Post #154, 236 Scottwood Ave., Elmira Heights, NY 14903. 1 daughter and 3 grandchildren, 2 nieces, Stephanie Strbo of Binghamton, NY; and Michele Micha of Newport News, VA; and very special friends, Howard And Lorraine Broock of Elmira, NY, survive him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Michael Patrick and Steven Patrick. Graveside services with full military honors will be held in Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis St., Elmira, on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 10 AM.
