Ona Lou Patterson

Patterson, Ona Lou (Congdon) Age 75, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at home. She was born October 5, 1941 to the late Bert and Louise (Tears) Congdon. Ona Lou married John Patterson in 1965 and they shared 22 years together until he passed away October 27, 1987. Together they worked their dairy farm in Checkerville, enjoyed square dancing, their card clubs, weekends at Mormon Lake and traveling. Ona Lou had visited all 50 states, having seen 35 before she was 6 years old, as well as coast to coast of Canada, Australia, Fiji Islands and Mexico. She enjoyed spending part of her winters in St. Petersburg, FL. She also was a 60 year member of Fassett Grange #1567 and an avid fan of Jeff Gordon and country music with Johnny Cash being her favorite. Ona Lou is survived by her daughter, Johnna Lou (Jim) Blake, step-son, Richard (Nancy) Patterson; grandsons, Andrew (Mary), Kevin (Mary), John, Aaron (Brittney); granddaughter, Jessica (Jacobb); sister-in-law, Lois Patterson; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special niece, Donna R. Strong. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar; sisters, Pauline (Bert) Avery and Marie (Lynn) Updike; and brother-in-law, Lester Patterson. Friends and family are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial to immediately follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Troy, PA where she will be laid to rest with her beloved John. Lay Pastor John Knapp will officiate.
