Olivia Morgan Roblyer

March 1, 2000 — December 10, 2023

Olivia Morgan Roblyer passed away on the morning of December 10, 2023 at the age of 23.

She is survived by: her parents Andrew and Allison Roblyer; her sister Lindsay Roblyer; her brother Alexander Roblyer; and her beloved cat Tooter. She was preceded in death by: her grandmothers, Cheryl Unger and Mary Linda Roblyer; her cousin Joseph Anthony Roblyer; a close family friend Fred Collins; her cats Kiki, Piglet, Lola; and her family dog Milo.

Olivia was an incredibly gifted dancer, excelling in acrobatics and hip hop. She was a stand-out in her ballet and pointe performances as well, starring in many premier roles in the New Heights Dance Theater’s productions of the Nutcracker. Her performances as the Arabian lead and Snow Queen are surely ingrained in the memories of all who were lucky enough to be in the audience! She won many awards as a competitive dancer, including the highest level of achievement, the Platinum Award, for her memorable performance as Trudy the Cat.

Her creativity extended into other areas as well - she sang at an elite level, and was a very talented painter. As a senior, she was healthy enough to join the Varsity Elmira Express Cheerleading Team where, to no one’s surprise, she excelled and helped lead the team through competitions at the state level. She graduated from Elmira High School in 2018. After graduation, she went on to dedicate her time to working with animals at the Chemung County SPCA.  After her time at the SPCA, she worked in the paint department at Lowe’s, quickly gaining the admiration of her co-workers and the customers she served.

Olivia began her battle with a severe auto-immune disease at the start of high school. She fought through more pain than most can even fathom while dealing with her illness and the mental toll that came with it. Despite this, she always maintained the ability to lift up those around her.

She had the ability to effortlessly entertain any room she walked into, and was always the life of the party. Her humor was infectious, ranging from absurdly silly to incredibly witty. Olivia gifted those around her with countless hours of entertainment and she brought laughter and joyful smiles to anyone lucky enough to know her.

Those closest to her knew she was truly prophetic. From her constant observations about life and through her own struggles came valuable insights, wisdom, and knowledge that she used to help others. Her warmth helped people open up to her and feel comfortable enough to expose their own vulnerability, and even without formal education or training – she knew innately know how to help them.

She was unapologetic and confident in herself. She valued authenticity above all else. She always made sure to let those she loved know how deeply she cared for them. Olivia will be missed by a tremendous number of people who were touched by her light, her humor, and her heart.

She also had a very special relationship with Jesus, and we know she is with him now for eternity. May her soul rest in peace.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a funeral service celebrating her life at 7:00 PM, at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY.  She will be laid to rest in a private committal service at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
