Carpenter, Myrtle K. Age 80, of Pine City, NY passed into peace, Monday, December 31, 2001 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.Myrtle was the beloved wife of the late Jerome M. Carpenter. She was born the daughter of the late Frank M. and ?Lottie? Newcomer Callahan.She is survived by: children; Beverly ?Tootie? Ayres (Warren) Allen Jr. of Pine City, NY, Michael Edward (Ramona, ?Mona?) Ayers of Bellona, NY, Timothy Guy Ayres of Elmira, NY, Terry Jay Ayres of Elmira, NY, Theodore Callahan Ayres of Elmira, NY, Todd Tyler (Julie) of Pueblo, CO, grandchildren; Kele, Shane, Kristen, Heather, Joshua, Cody, Dakota, 5 great-grandchildren, sister; Lucille Hagerman of Elmira, NY and several nieces and nephews.Myrtle was a loving mother who cherished her children and made them her first priority in life.She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Pine City Fire Department.Myrtle was a very self-sufficient person who felt pride in her independence.She loved flowers and appreciated the natural beauty they brought into her life.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Saturday, January 5, 2002, from 2pm until 4pm.Funeral and committal services will immediately follow at 4pm. The Rev. Michael Ratey will officiate.Interment will be at the convenience of the family.Memorial donations in Myrtle K.
