Millard Andrew Rought

Rought, Millard Andrew Age 79 of Millerton, PA. Went home to be with his Lord Monday, October 1, 2001at the Ira Davenport Hospital Bath, NY. He was born August 29, 1922 in Gillett, PA the son of the late Stephen Andrew and Ella Mae (Millard) Rought. Millard married Eloise Goodwin April 5, 1947 in Wyalusing, PA. Together they celebrated 47 wonderful years of marriage before her death in 1994. He is survived by his beloved family, daughter and son-in-law, Rose Maree and Keith L. Clark of Campbell, NY; son, Roger Rought of Elmira, NY; grandson, James S. Clark of Campbell, NY; granddaughter, Linda Howell and family of Gillett, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Clifton and Ann Rought of Florida; sisters, Bessie Williams of Florida; Virginia (Richard) Chapin of Kernersville, NC; very close aunt, Charolette Kane also of North Carolina; along with 3 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces nephews and many close friends. Millard attended the Gillett Baptist Church for many years. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving his country from 1946 to 1949. He was very proud to serve his country as was his father, Stephen, who received the Medal of Honor December 1, 1864 during the Civil War. Mr. Rought retired from Remington Rand after 25 years of faithful and dedicated service. National Homes and Trayer Products employed him for a time. His favorite pastime was fishing and all the stories that went along with it. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Friday, October 5, 2001 from 9 to 11 AM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (11 AM) The Reverend Sandi Foster will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gillett Cemetery Gillett, PA where full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Rought.
