Maxine M. (Heath) Dunkle

Maxine M. (Heath) Dunkle , Age 82, former resident of Pine City, NY, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Maxine was born March 16, 1942 in Elmira, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Marie (Blodgett) Heath. Growing up in Gillett, PA she was a graduate of Troy, PA High School. Maxine was retired from NCR/Axiom in Ithaca, NY.

She was a past member of the Gillett Baptist Church.  In her younger days, she enjoyed playing softball in the Pine City Slow Pitch League, where she was a team pitcher. She also enjoyed family camping trips, playing bingo and euchre.

Surviving are her daughter; Toni (Gary) Bradley of Elmira, her son; Paul (Ana Lucia) Dunkle, Jr. of Newtown, CT, six granddaughters; Misty O’Dell, Sara Barto, Rebecca Stugart-Smith, Briella Dunkle, Rosabel Dunkle, and Camila Dunkle, one grandson; Shawn Stugart, seven great-granddaughters, two brothers; Samuel (Jolene) Heath of Laceyville, PA and Joseph Heath of Myrtle Beach, SC, and a son-in-law; James Gaughan of Zephyrhills, FL.

Maxine was predeceased by her parents, her husband; Paul E. Dunkle, Sr., her daughter; Denise Gaughan, a sister; Nancy Meriwether, and a brother; Thomas Heath.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 am to 12 PM on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904. Her funeral service will be held there following at 12 PM with Pastor Micky Cavanaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
