Mary F. Congdon

Mary Faye (Dunham) Congdon, our beautiful mother passed into the arms of the lord on February 15, 2024, knowing she was loved by her family at the age of 91 and is now together again with her husband of 63 years Maynard F. Congdon.

Mary was born in Montour Falls, NY on October 17, 1932 daughter of the late Kenneth & Bernice (States) Dunham. She attended Southside High School and graduated from Williamson High School Summa Cum Laude in Home Economics. Mary was everything to her family, wife, mother, and often a gentle nurse. She was Justice of the Peace for Wells Township and a Notary Public. Mary enjoyed winning many games of Bingo with her caregivers.

Mary was predeceased by parents, Kenneth F. & Bernice (States) Dunham, husband of 63 years, Maynard F. Congdon, brother, John Dunham, grandsons, Randall Congdon, and James Brady, granddaughter, Jillian Knapp Dunn, brother-in-law, Walter Webb, niece, Roaine Webb Dion, several, aunts, and uncles.

Mary is survived by children, Maynard D. (Ginger) Congdon, Patricia (James) Knapp, Michael J. (Deb) Congdon, Richard E. (Carol) Congdon, James R. (Lori) Congdon, Ronald E. Congdon, Lawrence L. (Julie) Congdon, William T. (Lisa) Congdon, a sister Kay R. Dunham Webb, brother, Herb Dunham, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904. Her memorial service will be held after calling hours at 4 PM at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life and Interment will be held on Mother's Day, May 12, 2024, at a time to be announced.
