Mark J. "Skinny" Cicora Sr. Town of Southport resident Age 71, was born February 24, 1947 in Elmira, NY the son of the late John F. and Mary (Jankowski) Cicora. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. His brothers David J. Cicora and Daniel A. Cicora along with his sister, Mary S. preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances B. (Collum) Cicora; beloved children: Mark J. (Cheryl Rinwalske) Cicora Jr., Frank W. (Amy J.) Cicora and Tabitha L. (Gus Goodwin) Cicora all of Elmira; grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly: Alec J. Cicora and Zachary D. Cicora; Chelsea M. (fiancée Donald Brown) Cicora, Mollie M. Cicora, Carrie E. Cicora, Colby W. Cicora, Alexis M. Cecee; Caleb M. (Cicora) Green and Hailey A. (Cicora) Green; Danielle Rinwalske and Dylan Rinwalske; sister, Suzanne Cicora of Elmira Heights, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne K. and Robin L. VanHouten of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cicora of Horseheads, NY; very special friends, Eugene "Butch" and Jeanne Deery. Mark was a veteran of the Unites States Navy proudly serving his country aboard the USS Dewey. For many years he worked for American LaFrance and was a mechanic for the Town of Southport Highway Department. Mark was a communicant of St. Peter & Paul's Church and was a life member of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department. It has been said of "Skinny" that he was a walking textbook of mechanical knowledge. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The Southport Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Fireman's Service for their brother following the visitation at 5 pm, Mike Smith will offer the Eulogy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00amin St. Peter & Paul's Church 566 East Market Street Elmira. Father John DeSocio will celebrate the Mass.Interment will follow in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport, NY where the Chemung Veterans Honor Squad will accord Military Honors for Mr. Cicora. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to CareFirst 3805 Meads Creek Road Painted Post, NY 14870.
