Marilyn D. Smith

Marilyn D. Smith Age 61, of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Elcor Nursing & Rehab Center, surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn is survived by her parents, Dorothy and Daniel Post; husband of 36 years, Stephen M. Smith; children, Jessica and Adam Smith; sister, Cassandra Schiefen; brother, Geoffrey Post; grandchildren, Angel, Abbigail and Andre; and best friends, Axieann and Keith Knowlden. Marilyn was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy in 1973 and Elmira College in 1975. Marilyn was a great mother to her children and beautiful wife to her husband, Stephen. Stephen and Marilyn had a wonderful life of marriage for 36 years and have been together for a total of 43 years. She loved camping and her dogs. Marilyn impacted a lot of lives along the way, including many of Jessica’s friends. She was a softball mom and mom to many others. She was a volunteer for the auxiliary of the Golden Glow Fire Department for many years. She worked with her best friends at Service Machine & Tool Company for 28 years, where she was the office manager. Services will be at a time and date to be announced.
