Marilyn D. Bailey, age 82, formerly of Orchard Park Road in Pine City, NY, surrendered her soul to her Savior on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at Elcor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Horseheads. Marilyn was born in Gray Valley, PA to the late Milton and Doris (Seymour) Bullard. She was a long time member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Elmira Heights and prior to that, the Southport Baptist Church. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Theodore “Ted” Bailey. She worked alongside him at their business, The Bailey Company. Marilyn enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving children: son, Norman (Teresa) Bailey of Syracuse, NY with daughters Marissa (Mike) Geller, Alison (Pete) Curinga, and Becca Bailey; daughter, LuAnn (Mike) Smith of Elmira, NY with son, Dan (Barb) Smith and daughter Sue (Dan) O’Connell; son, Gary (Vicki) Bailey of Pine City, NY with daughter Jayme (Fiancé, Pat Comstock) Bailey and son Ryan Bailey. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Brooke and Hannah Smith, Shannon, Molly, and Leah O’Connell, and Beau Geller; beloved sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Jim Benedict of Horseheads, NY along with their daughters, Amy and Hope Benedict and granddaughters, Katy Martin and Sara Benedict Augustine. Also surviving are cherished brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Bailey family including Dick (Kathy) Bailey of Elmira, NY, Joan (Paul) Hale of Arizona, and John (Cathy) Bailey of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 1PM - 4PM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 with a funeral service to immediately follow at 4PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. Pastor Larry Ostrander will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
