Marial P. Lalonde

Marial P. LaLonde (Grandma Pickle) It is with great sadness that the family of Marial P. LaLonde announce her passing on December 29, 2021 at the age of 77, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Marial was born on October 9, 1944 in Wellsville, NY, the daughter of the late George and Medeline Shergur. Marial was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Elmira. She loved to read and travel. She also enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her feline companion, Honeysuckle. She was a staple at LaLonde's Auto and enjoyed talking and enjoyed talking to customer's who became friends. Marial was predeceased by her husband, Melvin LaLonde (Grandpa Chocolate); brother, Art Mallard; and granddaughter, Heather LaLonde. Marial is survived by children, Jerry LaLonde, Colleen LaLonde, Scott (Gloria) LaLonde, and her "adopted" son, Tom (Penny) Ostrander; grandchildren, Brandon (Macala) LaLonde, Jeffrey (Elsi) Harvey, Kasey (Nick) Harvey, Corey Harvey, Joshua LaLonde, Dustin LaLonde, Christine (Alex) Melville, and Nicholas (Amanda) LaLonde; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Adele Hunkins; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
