Lynda M. Warner

April 9, 1940 — February 23, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Lynda Marlene Freeman Warner passed away on February 23, 2025 at home.  Lynda was 84 years old.  She made her home in Gillett and Coryland, PA.

Lynda was born the eldest child of Lynn DeLay and Margaret Arlene Collum Freeman.  Her family moved to Gillett when she was young and she attended Gillett Elementary School and graduated from Troy High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Warner on January 6 1959, and celebrated her 66th wedding anniversary this January.

She is remembered for her love of music, singing in multiple musical ensembles and directing Junior and church choirs and cantatas after taking courses at Mansfield State College. She loved and supported reading and was a member of the Bradford County Library Board for more than 24 years where she worked enthusiastically to bring the bookmobile into fruition and beautify the building and grounds. She enjoyed making friends and working in retail in jewelry and furniture, where she utilized her love of interior decorating. She has spent her adult life working to restore her husband’s multigenerational farm home.  She owned and operated Lynda’s Wreaths & Tussy Mussys and BelCast Gables Bed & Breakfast.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Jeff Warner and their three children Amy (Jim) Chrabaszcz of Gillett, Bradley (Linda) Warner of McDaniel, MD and Susan (Gene) Wilston of Sugar Grove, PA.. She is also survived by her two younger brothers Thomas (Kathy) Freemen of Erie, PA and Richard (Sarene) Freeman of Warren, PA. She was a beloved grandmother to her eight grandchildren, and has seven great grandchildren (soon to be nine!) and had several close nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to Gillett Baptist Church, 33241 Route 14, Gillett, PA 16925 for visiting hours on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, when her memorial service will begin. Rev. Micky Cavanaugh will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904.
